YOUR PRIVATE GETAWAY
IN AUTHENTIC SPAIN.

Altea ('the one that cures' in ancient Greek) is a refuge of light and peace by the seaside in the Northern part of the province of Alicante (Spain). The town offers a mild micro-climate, non-packed beaches, superb natural surroundings, and in addition one of the most beautiful Old Towns in Spain - the so-called 'Casco Antiguo'.

It is no coincidence that painters and artists from all over Europe often choose this enclave as a hideaway in which to seek inspiration...

PICTURESQUE BLUE AND WHITE DOMES...

"This maze of cobbled narrow and crooked streets with glimpses of the bay is one of the better features of the town. Other sights include the church of La Mare de Déu del Consol ("Our Lady of Solace"), easily identifiable by its picturesque blue and white domes, tiled with glazed ceramics. There are numerous quaint restaurants near the church, some with a view over the Mediterranean".

COUPLE LEISURE AND CULTURE

"Altea's name could come from the Greek Althaia, which means 'I cure' or the Arabic word 'aá¹á¹aláya' resulting in the Valencian word 'Talaia'. Historic remains from the Iberian and Roman periods are present in the municipal territory".
